Who knew Tarp Clips had so many uses...
Our range of Plastic and Metal Spring Clamps — Tarp Clips... or Market Stall Clips depending upon who you're talking to and which way the wind's blowing — are the kind of general purpose Plastic and Metal Clamps that find their way into the hands of an unbelievably diverse range of users. They're frequently used as Tarp Clamps for securing tarpaulins to market stalls or other temporary structures but we also have many happy customers using them for Welding, Woodworking, DIY, Camping and Caravanning applications.
Do you need Plastic or Metal Spring Clips?
Metal clips are generally considered more durable and the spring used in their construction is usually stronger meaning they have a harder biting force and are a little more difficult to open; we stock Metal Clamps in Standard, Heavy Duty and Goliath versions for this reason. Market Stall Clips like these are right at home in commercial and heavy duty DIY applications. If you're worried about the clamp's biting force damaging the surface you're fixing on to then take a look at our spring clamp jaw covers.
Plastic clips are arguably more user friendly and intended for lighter duty applications such as Camping Clips or lightweight Woodworking applications. They're generally easier to open and have built in plastic jaw tips to protect the surface they're clamping down on to. You're not a true camping, caravanning or DIY enthusiast if you don't have at least one of these in your cupboard. Just don't use them as Welding Clamps; plastic... heat... it never ends well.
Small Clamps, Medium, Large, Massive... What's the difference
Our clamps are sorted in to 20mm, 35mm, 50mm and 75mm versions. This dimension refers to the maximum jaw opening. Mini and Tiny Clips (what we class as 35mm and 20mm sizes respectively) are great for securing smaller and lighter weight objects; think uses such as Fabric Clips or lightweight Tarp Tie Downs. We do occasionally see people using them as Tarpaulin Clips for securing bigger tarps but we'd generally recommend you opt for one of our larger 50mm Spring Clamps if this is your primary intended application.
